Israeli Police on High Alert

Israeli police were on high alert yesterday following a strike call amongst Palestinians over recent clashes at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, a flashpoint site sacred to both Muslims and Jews.

Officials have said they are particularly concerned about the situation in predominantly Arab east Jerusalem and Arab-Israeli cities.
