Religous News Verses: 2012, Evolution, Converting Evil People and Bachmann Dolls

People secretly harboring a hope that the year 2012 marks the end of the world have reason to be cheerful.   It turns out that the "Web Bot Project," which makes predictions based upon Internet search activity, is predicting that the world will end on December 21, 2012.

Skeptics of "end of the world" theories and Armageddon tend to believe in evolution.   They, too, have reason to be cheerful.   The discovery of feathered dinosaur fossils in China lends credibility to the theory that birds evolved from dinosaurs.

Family values folk such as James Dobson believe in spanking children.   In fact, the bible tells them to do so at Proverbs 22:15:

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him

It turns out that a new study reveals that kids who are regularly smacked by their parents have lower IQs.   The authors of the study warned

… that children who were regularly smacked could suffer symptoms more closely associated with post-traumatic stress disorder, including becoming more fearful and easily startled.

The Liberty Counsel, which is the premier legal group representing Christians in lawsuits throughout the country, has launched an "Adopt a Liberal – Prayer In Action" program. Liberty Counsel says the program works like this:

Pick one or more of the liberals from the list we have posted online at www.LC.org, or choose your own liberal(s) to adopt. If you are led to choose one or more of the liberals we have selected for consideration, please read their brief biographical statement, including the reasons they stand in need of prayer.

Pray earnestly and intensely for them! Pray that the Lord would move upon them and cause them to be the kind of leaders who will encourage others to lead "a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." We encourage you to seek the Lord's guidance on how to pray for your liberal(s), always allowing Him to temper your prayer with His love and mercy.

The list of evil liberal people so far includes the following list (Liberty Counsel promises to add more to the list):

• Congressman Barney Frank
• Director John Holdren
• Mr. Barry Lynn
• Secretary Janet Napolitano

• The "Unknown Liberal"

Once converted to "right thinking," these leaders might want to buy a cool Michele Bachmann action figure!
