Pat Robertson is not a shy man. Shocked by the knowledge that a third of women are hooked on porn, when he wants the answer to a question, particularly one about women and porn, he does what any guy would do–he asks a woman. Never mind that the woman at the other end of the question (and the desk he's sharing) is undoubtedly an evangelical Christian who probably hasn't been within ten yards of porn of any kind in her Christian life. In the video below, via Right Wing Watch, his female co-host is temporarily stunned, then noticeably tries not to permanently facepalm as Robertson not only objectifies her, but pelts her with questions about whether she looks at porn and then whether she likes it.
“Christie, the last time I heard, you were a woman,” Robertson asked 700 Club co-host Kristi Watts. “You are a mother and you are a sweet Christian girl — lady. Do you see anything in porn that attracts you?”
“No, Pat,” Watts replied. “These questions you ask me, I’m like, really?”
“I’m trying to get your attitude,” Robertson pressed.
“No, that is not an issue for me, thank you very much,” Watts insisted.
“Well, it’s boring,” Robertson agreed.
“Well, for some people…,” Watts began, then trailed off.
As if using his co-host as a representative of all of womankind wasn't enough, Pat decided to showcase his ignorance of women more by saying he always thought porn was a "man thing." He ends with a prayer to help viewers who might be addicted to it.
Watts is alternately probably praying for Pat after today's antics.
