David James Manning's ATLAH World Missionary Church in New York City was vandalized on October 16. On his "Manning Report" broadcast, he showed viewers that the chimney of his church building was targeted by vandals and that three additional graffiti images were painted on the back.
According to Manning, the only way that vandals could have had access to the roof of his church building was via nearby buildings in the Harlem neighborhood. "I am very concerned that the police department has not taken this matter seriously," he said, citing previous attempts to break into the church building. When someone tried to break through the gate in the past, he said that police told Manning that he had incited the conflict because of birther related "trial" of President Obama.
He asked his followers to call a New York police officer. "We need to make sure that the New York City Police Department does not treat us in a partial way or in a bigoted way."
Manning says that in light of numerous death threats against him, the ATLAH ministry is in danger. Due to repeated phone calls to the precinct, the 28th precinct has opened a criminal trespass investigation, Manning said in a subsequent report.
Manning's ministry is controversial. Among other things, Manning has claimed that "if the LGBT agenda goes through, if your granddaughter thinks she's ugly, she can fall in love with her dog and have sex with it" and that Oprah Winfrey is the anti-Christ. He has said horrible things about the president, calling him "white trash" and making other derogatory remarks:
