5 Stars made me more informed
i have read a lot of books about creationism and this book is the best to debate. not the best to learn about the info but if you have a grasp of the info be for you read this it is a veary good book.
5 Stars Great compliation of scientific responses to creationists claims
This book does not read like a novel. It's a comprehensive collection of responses to creationist claims. If you are scientifically minded but don't work in natural science fields and have trouble remembering the myriad of details with regards to scientific practices and discoveries, like myself, then this is the book for you. It is a great resource for discussing the basic elements of evolution such as radiocarbon dating, the second law of thermodynamics, and molecular biology, with fundamentalists who may not have a scientific background. Though, you can find creationists that are very knowledgeable about some aspects of science and are willing to argue the validity of them. For example, radiometric dating. For those folks, you'll need to be intimately familiar with the scientific process and how to interpret the results. This book will probably not give you that level of intimate detail. However, it is a great resource to use while corresponding with the general creationist about the validity of evolution.

This is a really good resource for answers to the arguments of both sides. I can easily look up any creationist or evolutionist theory and find information on how science supports evolution.
5 Stars Not prose, just refrence
The format of this book is an outline. It's a sourcebook to argue against creationism. Of course, ultimately the best argument against creationism in the classroom is that creationism isent science, therefore science teachers should not teach it. (Just like they shouldn't teach literature or politics)
5 Stars Great book, but the Kindle version is a bit strange.
This is not so much a review of the content, which has already been covered well by other reviews. I'm giving the book five stars on that merit. However, those purchasing the Kindle version might wish to know that the typesetting is going to be a bit different than most of the books I have come across. The font is different, and in my opinion a little hard to read. It looks as though the pages were just scanned in from a poorly typeset book. The baseline jumps up and down in the middle of words sometimes, and a few of the characters in the font appear as though the thinner parts did not fully scan in. I'm not sure how this is possible, because otherwise it acts like normal text. You can clip to your clipping file, do word look-ups, and so on, despite the fact that it looks like a picture of words. It also seems to take just a little bit longer to load the book than is typical.
If you really want the material, it is not a large enough problem to avoid purchasing the Kindle version. Despite the oddities, it is certainly easier than accessing TalkOrigins via WhisperNet and the Kindle web browser.
